About the club

Leicester Volleyball Club is a well established amateur club; founded in 1977. We have a large number of members of mixed standards.

Our coaches are volunteers because the club is funded entirely by its members and we cannot afford to pay for coaching.

Whether it’s serious volleyball that you’re after or the social aspects of the sport, this is the club for you. Last season saw a successful campaign for the Men’s National League team in Division 2 and the Ladies' National League team in Division 3 Central. With a bit more luck (and/or concentration at key moments!) the men could well have been promoted into the first division. Teams were also entered into the Men's East Midlands Regional League and the Ladies Northamptonshire League.

On the social side of things, along with regular club socials, there are many tournaments and Volleyball events held throughout the year. As well as the indoor ones, there are a number of outdoor grass and beach tournaments. There are opportunities to travel abroad to places such as Belgium and Germany, through LVC's good links with European clubs.

In the coming season (2006-07) the Men's National League squad continue their Division 2 campaign and the ladies will be in Division 3 Central again. The Regional teams shall be once again competing hard as the Men enter the East Midlands League and the Women take on another year in the Northants Volleyball League. Browse the site for more information. The club is open to anyone wishing to play volleyball providing that you aren't a complete beginner, so feel free to contact any member of the committee if you have questions or comments.

Whilst at present we do not cater for complete beginners to the sport, we will gladly put you in touch with Local Volleyball Clubs if needed.
