It was Warwick's turn to make the most of their home-court advantage while Leicester was looking to also win the away game. Despite a good warm-up LVC started with the jitters and they saw Riga pull away 5-0 with their very first service run. But they found their rhythm and caught up. It was then simple Volleyball as Leicester gradually extended their lead and took the set 19-25.

The 2nd set started very much the same way, but LVC's men settled a lot quicker this time catching up a 1-4 deficit right away and overpowering Riga until the set was in the bag 15-25.

Leicester started the 3rd set as they finished the previous one with really good play and a good team spirit, which was noticeable throughout the entire match. Halfway though, LVC decided to try a few combinations and became a little nervous. At 17-17 Riga really stepped up their play and left Leicester 5 points down. At 19-24 to Riga it looked certain that LVC would have to go into a fourth set. But as the men clawed their way back to tie the set, Riga's players put themselves under more and more pressure. Once Leicester had evened the score, they were in no mood to drop this set anymore and, consequently, took it 24-26.

Overall it was a good game with many spectacular pick-ups and attacks on both sides. Leicester's men dealt very well in fact, much better than their Riga friends - with all of the referee's decisions, which were absolutely correct throughout the match

Captain Paul Bushell said after the match: "I thought we played well. Not much more to say, really."
